THAC's committees were designed for members who want to be engaged in THAC's mission and goals. Each committee has unique functions and may appeal to a variety of professionals. If you are looking to get involved, meet fellow THAC members, and work closely with our Board of Directors, then please read the following committee descriptions. You can contact the Committee Chairman directly or send a general inquiry email to for any questions.
Chairman: Richard Cheng,
The Education Committee provides assistance with planning, coordinating and hosting education events. The committee members coordinate with the Education Chair on identifying appropriate general membership meeting topics, finding speakers to provide presentations on identified education topics, and coordinating with THAC Board Members on content development.
Community Outreach Committee
Chairman: Lisa Vernon,
The Community Outreach Committee serves as the liaison between THAC and community partners, such as educational professionals and non-profits. This committee’s mission is to connect experts who share a common interest in assisting and supporting families and children as it relates to healthcare resources.
Chairman: Brandon Woods,
The Networking Committee fosters collaboration between members and guests. The committee’s goals are inviting new guests, welcoming guests at events, personal follow up with each new member, and connecting members with appropriate opportunities. Additionally, the networking committee works closely with other committees to support their strategy, growth, sponsorship, and resources.
Disaster Preparedness Committee
Chairman: Heidi Wysocki,
The Disaster Preparedness Committee provides resources such as Stop the Bleed training for the broader community to learn triage first aid training like wound identification, compression, and tourniquet application. In a crisis, anyone who is present becomes an immediate responder and should have the skills to help their fellow citizens. Committee members assist in securing sponsors for the teaching materials / equipment and assist with hands-on training. Committee members who choose to do so can become certified to teach the Stop the Bleed campaign.
Chairman: Alison Richardson,
The Membership Committee is responsible for identifying and recruiting prospective new members by contacting and inviting them to attend THAC meetings. We are responsible for setting up the sign-in tables at events, greeting and checking in members and guests, facilitating registration and payment for new and renewing members, and recording the attendance of members and guests at meetings.
Chairman: Thara Varanasi,
The Philanthropy Committee manages the full spectrum of THAC’s philanthropy pillar, from having the passion and heart for community service to serving as an ambassador. Our goals are to build awareness for the selected non-profit, raise funds, and coordinate activities to support each nonprofit's mission. Each quarter ends in with a Happy Hour with a Twist event, which is planned by the Philanthropy committee. We also work closely with the Corporate Sponsorship and Networking Committees.
Corporate sponsorship Committee
Chairman: Patrick Sweeney,
The Corporate Sponsorship Committee fosters relationships with local and national organizations that are interested in partnering with THAC. The committee members coordinate with the Sponsorship Chair on identifying potential Sponsors, developing & maintaining relationships, and securing funds to support ongoing THAC operations and philanthropy initiatives.
